Jobs for Cincinnati Graduates (JCG) Helps Youth Succeed and Impacts Our
Community.
High School to Career Program (10th — 12th graders):
JCG keeps 10th through 12th grade students in high school and on the
path to graduation. The JCG high school graduation rate is 93% (click
here for more about JCG's successes). JCG teaches important life and
career skills, as well as preparation for state graduation tests. By
identifying the youth’s skills and interests, JCG assists in creating an
achievable career plan and aides in career exploration. JCG also connects
students to social services to overcome challenges, as well as introduces
students to the importance of volunteerism in the community.
Career Connections (Youth ages 16 — 21): JCG supports high school
dropouts in alternative programs to get their lives back on track. Of the
youth who enter and complete the Dropout Recovery Program, 84% earn their GED or
diploma. JCG helps youth who have dropped out of high school to reach future
goals through non-traditional education programs, as well as connect students to
supportive services in the community. By learning job skills and engaging
in career exploration, youth learn how to gain employment and post-secondary
training.
Connect to Success: JCG partners with Cincinnati State Career
& Technical College and 20 other organizations who serve high-school
dropouts. Using unique collaborations with these organizations, we
reengage youth to earn their high school diploma or GED and help them
successfully transition to employment or post-secondary training.
